DIY Lemon & Lime Soap
You will not believe how simple it is to make your own lemon and lime soap, infused with essential oils.
Materials
- ¾ pound, melt & pour goats milk soap base
- ½ tablespoon, fresh lime zest
- ½ tablespoon, fresh lemon zest
- 20 drops, lemon essential oil
Instructions
- Zest a lime, using a cheese grater or zester. Pat dry with paper towels.

- Cut the soap base into 1 inch chunks. Melt the soap base chunks in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. If it is not completely melted, put it back on for 10 second increments, until fully melted; stirring each time.
- Add the lemon and lime zest.
- Add lemon essential oil. Mix well.
- Pour the soap mixture into the silicone mold.
- (Optional) Lightly sprinkle with more lemon and lime zest on top of the liquid soap mixture.
- Mist lightly with rubbing alcohol to help reduce bubbles.
- Let set for about 3-4 hours.
- Remove from mold. Using the straight scraper, cut the soap into 2 inch bars.
Notes
- You can speed the process up even more by transferring the mold to the refrigerator after it sets for about an hour.
- To stop bubbles from forming in melt and pour soap, fill a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and lightly spritz the soap when you are done pouring.
- Play around with your ingredients and come up with different combinations of scents and colors.
