Shaving is not the same experience for everyone. Skin sensitivity, types of hair, even something as common as skin tags can make normal shaving painful and at times even pointless. When you have to shave every single day and still end up with uncomfortable stubble, it’s easy to think you’ll never have the perfect smooth skin you want without spending an arm and a leg consistently.
The answer is simple: Don’t shave, epilate.
Similar to waxing, an epilator removes multiple hairs simultaneously by grasping them all at once. Thankfully with an epilator, there’s no sticky wax. Even more so, epilators don’t take skin with the hair!
The Philips Satin Perfect HP6576 Deluxe Epilator is changing the epilation game.
We will show you why this device is great tool and hopefully help you decide if it’s the best option for you.

Design & Features of Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator
The Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator comes in a beautiful combination of white and champagne along with a storage or travel bag. The design makes it perfect to use in hard to reach and sensitive areas. And the ergonomically shaped curve of the head allows it to pivot with your body seamlessly. There’s also a light that makes it even easier to see every little hair. At just over one pound, it’s not as heavy as other epilators.
The Attachments
The epilator is very simple and hassle-free to use. A small button on the side allows for easy switching of attachments. The multiple attachments make the best epilation experience for any skin type. The two main heads are the epilators and the shaver. You can choose to surround those heads with either the basic cap or the massaging attachments.
The epilating discs are hypoallergenic and ceramic so it’s much safer for skin than the metal epilators. According to the Philips website, it is made with 32 individual ceramic-textured tweezers or “catch points”. The epilation head is even washable, which is easiest when rinsed with water and by using the cleaning brush.
The shaving head is perfect for those who prefer to only use the epilator in certain areas. It works just as effortlessly and painlessly as a normal razor would.
You can shave, trim, and style with the assigned attachments in areas such as the underarms or the bikini line. Some people are more sensitive to pain than others so the massaging attachments help alleviate that sensation. For this, the active massager is perfect because it stimulates and soothes the skin. And lastly, the hair lifter vibrates the skin so you can get rid of even flat-lying hairs.
The Others
The luxury tweezer set comes in a lipstick-shaped tube that makes traveling and quick touchups easier. Inside the tube are the tweezers with a built-in light as well as a mirror. These luxury ceramic tweezers are perfect for grooming eyebrows and work better than average metal ones.
The Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator can work with or without the cord. When cordless, it will last 40 minutes to give you lots of time to shave (or epilate) wherever is most comfortable without struggling to stay near a plug. And it only takes roughly an hour to charge completely.
All of these products fit neatly in the stylish pouch for easy storage.
Usage & Impressions of Philips Epilator
Does it hurt?
We’re not going to lie to you. Epilating hurts. However, the good news is it gets better the more you use it. Of course, everyone is different. We all have different hair types and skin sensitivities. Even pain tolerances. People have claimed it causes “sight discomfort” to using all caps, “IT HURTS!” The 32 “catching plates” literally grab hairs all in one stroke so the sensation is similar to waxing (without the pain of having skin ripped off with it). So if you can handle waxing, the consensus is that you will be able to handle epilating no problem. According to Philips, the Satin Perfect Deluxe has roughly 81 catching actions per minute. That’s a lot of hair.
It also depends on which setting is used. There are two settings to choose from and we always recommend starting with the lowest setting to test your comfort level.
It will definitely take patience but after three or four times, the pain will decrease drastically. This is because over time, your hair will grow thinner.
The average user typically uses their epilator every three to four weeks depending on the area. It will leave skin smooth and soft for up to four weeks, especially if used correctly.

When do I use it?
Some users felt that the instruction manual was confusing and long so they missed important facts.
However, using it incorrectly can result in more unnecessary pain as well as ingrown hair. The truth is all epilators can cause ingrown hairs. Luckily, the ceramic epilating head makes the chance of the hairs breaking off less likely than when using a metal one.
The instructions also recommend taking a hot shower or bath and exfoliating before epilating. You should also exfoliate every day in between the next epilation. Shaving or epilating after a shower when your skin is clean and your pores are open will leave you with a smooth and closer shave. The epilator should not be used (and will not work) in water so yes; please wait until after a bath or shower.
If possible, find an “after epilating” cream or lotion because it helps keep skin silky smooth and less irritated. These are our favorites.
How expensive is it?
At first, it may seem expensive. The price varies depending on which site you purchase it from. Of course, it’s not going to be as cheap as an ordinary razor.
Think about it as more of a money-saver. Instead of constantly buying cheap razors (that barely work, right?) or going to salons and getting skin ripped off (while they rip you off, financially), you can spend a certain amount of money initially and save money in the long run.
With this product, you will completely negate the need for spending money on any other hair removal product. Epilation even lasts longer than waxing, and works better than shaving and plucking alone.
